Professional position (2014 - ....)

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery of the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. I conduct research in various topics about voice quality production, acoustics and perception. I am particularly interested in human charismatic voice and non-human primate vocal behavior to express leadership.


In January 2014 I achieved an international double program doctorate in Linguistics (University of Grenoble, France) and in Psychology (Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Italy) with a dissertation on the “Charismatic Voice in Political Speech”.


PERSONAL

I am an Italian citizen from Sicily

I love bikes and martial arts (Muay Thai and Krav Maga)

I admire Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino (2 Sicilian Heroes)

I play tenor saxophone and electric guitar

I read R. Saviano, U. Eco, D. Fo, J. Joyce, Z. Bauman, G. Verga
