– Postdoctoral Fellow (Oct. 2016 – June 2018) conducting research in articulatory phonetics at the Laboratoire de Phonétique et Phonologie (LPP) of the CNRS. In Paris I was involved in several scientific projects:
(a) the French ANR Project ArtSpeech for the development of articulatory phonetic synthesis to which I contribute with my scientific knowledge regarding the interaction between voice source and the speech sound articulators;
(b) the investigation of the phonetics and phonological phenomena of the Ruund language;
(c) non‐invasive (external‐lighting and sensing) photoglottographic (ePGG) technique.

– Lecturer (part-time from Sept. 2017 to June 2018) at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3.

– Postdoctoral Researcher (March 2014 – 2016) conducting research on various topics about voice quality production, acoustics, and perception in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery of the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. Here some examples of the projects I was involved in while at UCLA:
(a) Developing the UCLA psychoacoustic perceptually-validated model of voice quality;
(b) Impact of the interaction between vocal fold biomechanic variations and upper vocal tract resonances on the perception of voice quality;
(c) Physical modeling of vocal folds;
(d) Collecting political speech corpora in Mandarin Chinese, Korean, American English, American Spanish.

DOCTORAL STUDIES

– Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). In January 2014 I achieved an international double program doctorate in Linguistics (University of Grenoble, France) and in Psychology (Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Italy) with a dissertation on the “Charismatic Voice in Political Speech”.
